X-MEN: APOCALYPSE maintains no.1 spot

Singapore - X-MEN: APOCALYPSE (PG13) maintains its grip at no. 1. After two weekends, the Mutant pic has grossed an estimated total of US$4.7m (S$6.46m).

THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE (PG) is the highest debut, leaping into the runner up spot with an estimated US$917,300 (S$1.26m).

YOUNG & FABULOUS 最佳伙伴 (PG), the seventh local film of the year starts at no. 3 with US$227,247 (S$313,900) from 16 screens, while CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (PG) drops to fourth place. It has now grossed an estimated US$8.19m (S$11.25m)

APOCALYPSE ends CIVIL WAR's reign at #1

Singapore - One Marvel pic replaces another as X-MEN: APOCALYPSE (PG13) knocks CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (PG) into the runner-up position. It reportedly became Fox's biggest opening film ever with US$2.79m from 158 screens*. Premium formats include 3D and IMAX 3D.

MONEY MONSTER (M18) dips one spot to third place while THE NICE GUYS (M18) debuts in fourth place with US$55,705 (S$76,829). Rounding up the top five is THE JUNGLE BOOK (PG).

Also new this week: THE MAN WHO KNEW INFINITY (PG) and ELVIS & NIXON (PG13).

Coming in at no. 2 is MONEY MONSTER and the sixth local flick of the year THE FAITH OF ANNA WATERS at no. 4.

Dropping to third place is THE JUNGLE BOOK while the edited cut of BAD NEIGHBOURS 2 rounds up the top five.

MONEY MONSTER aims for biggest debut

Singapore - CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is likely to do a three-peat at no. 1. Meanwhile, MONEY MONSTER (M18) is the frontrunner amongst new comers, opening on Friday instead of the typical Thursday.

Other debuts include MY NEW SASSY GIRL (PG), I AM WRATH (NC16), THE FAMILY FANG (PG13) and the sixth local release of the year - THE FAITH OF ANNA WATERS (NC16) from director Kelvin Tong.

THE JUNGLE BOOK maintains its no. 2 position with an estimated cume of US$3.19m (S$4.34m).

The edited cut of BAD NEIGHBOURS 2 is the highest debut at no. 3 grossing an estimated US$103K (S$140K), followed by BEFORE I WAKE at no. 4 (figures unavailable) and MOTHER'S DAY at no. 5 with an estimated US$59K (S$80K).

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR triumphs at #1

Singapore - CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR wins the box office battle and lands at no. 1 with an estimated US$3.56m (S$4.78m), including premium offerings in 3D and IMAX 3D. This is slightly ahead of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE which kicked off with US$3,350,574 (S$4,594,207) five weeks ago.

THE JUNGLE BOOK drops to second place in its fourth outing and has now collected an estimated US$2.99m (S$4.02m).

THE HUNTSMAN: WINTER'S WAR and LONG LONG TIME AGO 2 我们的故事 2 take the next two positions with estimated cumes of US$1.7m (S$2.29m) and US$2.05m (S$2.75m) respectively.
