Singapore - AMERICAN SNIPER holds onto the no. 1 spot for a second weekend as it commands 49 screens (-5.77% change). MORTDECAI (NC16) is the highest debut of the week in the runner-up spot with 37 screens.
Other new entrants in the top ten include comedy THE WEDDING RINGER (NC16 / 24 screens) in fourth place; sci-fi youth pic PROJECT ALMANAC (PG13 / 26 screens) in seventh place and the George Lucas executive produced animated film STRANGE MAGIC (G / 18 screens) in eighth place.
Other new films include Tim Burton's BIG EYES (PG13 / 8 screens); Paul Thomas Anderson's INHERENT VICE (M18 / 5 screens); Thai horror GHOST COINS (NC16 / 5 screens); Korean gangster drama GANGNAM BLUES (R21 / 4 screens) and the sci-fi action VICE (NC16 / 8 screens), which is also the third edited release of the year, but the first in which a tighter rating would have allowed the film to be passed uncut.
Meanwhile, two films display great holding strengths in their second weekend: Oscar Best Picture nominee THE IMITATION GAME displays the rare feat of climbing up one spot to third place (21 screens; -8.7% change) while Thai romance comedy I FINE... THANK YOU... LOVE YOU maintains its position in fifth place (12 screens; 0% change).
