'Cirkus' opens at all major cinema chains

Singapore - The Hindi language Cirkus from director producer Rohit Shetty is the widest opening film this weekend. It's on screens from the three largest cinema chains as well as independent cinema, The Projector.

Men of Plastic from South Korea and November from France also debut.

'Avatar: The Way of Water' opens with US$1.9m

Singapore - Avatar: The Way of Water opens at no. 1 with US$1,948,937 (S$2,647,709).

Based on publicly published figures from Box Office Mojo, it's one of the biggest opening of the year ahead of Top Gun: Maverick (US$1,504,057 / S$2,058,016).

It trails Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (US$3,119,286 / S$4,318,589), Thor: Love and Thunder (US$2,245,176 / S$3,136,780), Jurassic World: Dominion (US$2,235,000 / S$3,099,297) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (US$2,168,722 / S$2,973,838).    

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish drops to no. 2 and has accumulated US$784,359 (S$1,065,583) after two weeks.

Notre-Dame on Fire debuts at no. 10.

Singapore - Puss in Boots: The Last Wish debuts at no. 1 with US$276,771 (S$374,347). The total goes up to US$586,419 (S$793,161) when previews are included. 

Black Panther: Wakanda Forver
dips to the runner-up spot with a cume of US$5,629,275 (S$7,613,876).

'Wakanda Forever' reigns at no. 1 for 4th Weekend

Singapore - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stayed at no. 1 for a fourth weekend, grossing US$363,816 (S$491,635) for a US$5,308,954 (S$7,174,149) cume. 

Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, Decibel
and Violent Night debut at positions no. 2, 3 and 5 respectively. Violent Night grossed US$28,633 (S$38,692) in its debut weekend.

Also new is The Antique Shop at no. 9 and Sadako DX at no. 10.

'Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile' and 'Violent Night' open wide

Singapore - The children centred Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile and adult black comedy, Violent Night lead the new releases this week. Also new in cinemas is the Korean action thriller, Decibel and Thai horror anthology, The Antique Shop, which co-stars the late Singaporean actor Aloysius Pang.

Other debuts include Japanese horror, Sakako Dx, Malaysian action drama, Daddyku Gangster, French drama comedy The Kitchen Brigade, and the documentary Ennio, about the renowned film composer Ennio Morricone.
