THE LAST JEDI opens at No. 1 with US$2.06m

Singapore - STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (PG) blasts into the no. 1 spot with US$2,060,113. Premium formats include 3D and IMAX 3D.

Other top ten debuts include WONDER (PG) (US$70,218 / 15 screens) and THE THOUSAND FACES OF DUNJIA 奇门遁甲 (PG), which open on Thursday and Friday respectively.

NARRATAGE (PG13 Edited) starts on 4 GV screens, and is the 22nd edited release of the year, and the 12th in which an edited version is released in lieu of a "passed clean" version with a higher age restriction.

THE LAST JEDI blasts into cinemas

Singapore - STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (PG) blasts onto screens this weekend. Premium formats include 3D and IMAX 3D.

Other debuts include WONDER (PG) and NARRATAGE (PG13 Edited) (4 GV screens). NARRATAGE is the 22nd edited release of the year, and the 12th in which an edited version is released in lieu of a "passed clean" version with a higher age restriction.

THE THOUSAND FACES OF DUNJIA 奇门遁甲 (PG) opens on Friday.

JUMANJI (PG) sneaks over the weekend and from Monday through Wednesday. PITCH PERFECT 3 (PG13) sneaks on Wednesday (20 Dec).

MURDER reigns for second week

Singapore - The detective continues his investigation as MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (PG) spends a second week at no. 1. Meanwhile, COCO (PG) climbs a notch up to no. 2. As reported in Deadline, the Pixar hit has been performing strongly in many territories, including Singapore where it only dips 7% in its third weekend. Its cume currently stands at US$1,210,432.

PADDINGTON 2 (PG) is the highest debut in fourth place (with premium options that include IMAX).

Also squeezing into the top ten are new releases A TAXI DRIVER (PG13) (9 screens) and BIRTH OF THE DRAGON (PG) (8 Cathay screens) and no. 9 and no. 10 respectively.

Other new releases include A TAXI DRIVER (PG13) (9 screens) and BIRTH OF THE DRAGON (PG) (8 Cathay screens). SERPENT (NC16) and MADAME (M18) open exclusively at Lido.

Indian-Singapore co-production CHENNAI 2 SINGAPORE (PG13), which starts on 2 Cathay screens is the 10th local release of the year.

MURDER arrives at no. 1 station

Singapore - MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (PG) debuts at no. 1 with an estimated US$602,999 from 41 screens. Former champ JUSTIC LEAGUE (PG) dips down to the runner-up spot. The DC super friends have collected an estimated US$5,035,651 to date.

Other top ten releases include DADDY'S HOME 2 (PG) with a US$126,636 cume from 29 screens (including previews) at no. 5, THE BRINK 狂兽 (NC16) (19 screens) at no. 8 and FIREWORKS, SHOULD WE SEE IT FROM THE SIDE OR THE BOTTOM? (PG) (7 screens) at no. 10.

Also new are THE STAR (PG) (US$8,562 / 6 GV screens), THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS (PG) (6 Shaw screens), FATE/STAY NIGHT: HEAVEN'S FEEL - I. PRESAGE FLOWER (NC16) (6 GV screens) and ALONE (NC16) (Lido only).
