3 edited films amongst new releases

by Lau Chee Nien / 21 Jan 2016

Singapore - Half of the new movies this week are also the first edited films to be released this year.

Taiwanese horror THE TAG-ALONG 红衣小女孩 (NC16 Edited) has been released with a lower rating in lieu of an uncut version with a more restrictive rating.

Oscar contender THE BIG SHORT (NC16 Edited) is likely to have been edited to comply with a ruling that states that "language that denigrates religion or is religiously profane is not allowed for all ratings." However, this is not mentioned in the classification information for the film (the film classification database used to identify "language that denigrates religion", but this no longer appears to be the case).
