AH BOYS hold at No. 1 and is now the 10th biggest film of 2012!

SINGAPORE - AH BOYS TO MEN (新兵正传) displays strong staying power as it holds on to No. 1. The film grosses another US$977,287 and scores a screen average of US$25,718 - numbers that any Hollywood blockbuster film would be envious of in their second week of release. AH BOYS has now grossed US$3,112,058 - making it the 10th biggest film of 2012.

Meanwhile, SKYFALL collects another US$479,383 for a total of US$5,110,532. It's now the 4th highest grosser of 2012 and the highest grossing James Bond film of all time in Singapore.

Making a strong debut this week is COLD WAR (寒战). The Hong Kong thriller by new co-directors Longman Leung and Sunny Luk scores the second biggest opening for a Mandarin film this year, collecting a total of US$340,725 for a strong screen average of US$14,817. Only AH BOYS TO MEN opened with bigger numbers (US$1,232,895).

Also making a strong start is ARGO. The Ben Stiller directed rescue drama grossed US$306,221 for a strong screen average of US$12,249. Its total gross now stands at US$510,390 - including sneak previews from the week before.

Tim Burton's animated feature FRANKENWEENIE makes a so-so start as it collects US$108,122 from 25 screens for a screen average of US$4,325.

Other debuts this week include CHASING MAVERICKS (US$45,786), LAWLESS (US$10,560), MYSTERY (浮城谜事)(US$7,252) and BLACK GOLD (US$6,895).

JAB TAK HAI JAAN and SON OF SARDAAR are two Hindi releases that are unranked.

With a total of US$2,488,604, the box office is up a slight 1.35% compared to the same period a year ago when IMMORTALS claimed the No. 1 spot.
