Singapore - Will Royston Tan's 3688 想入非非 (PG) top the box office this weekend? In the absence of figures from last week (at the time of writing), it's hard to ascertain if it's chances are strong, or if MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS - which Fox reported to be their third biggest weekend gross of all time in this territory, will maintain its box office crown.
Other releases this week include action drama SICARIO (NC16), M. Night Shyamalan's THE VISIT (PG13), the Johnny Depp headlined BLACK MASS (M18 - Passed with Cuts), Korean box office smash ASSASSINATION (NC16), Mabel Cheung's A TALE OF THREE CITIES 三城记 (PG13), horror flick VISIONS (NC16) and Japanese anime LOVE LIVE! THE SCHOOL IDOL MOVIE (PG).
Limited preview sessions of EVEREST, including IMAX 3D are also available over the weekend.
UPDATE (20 Sep): Based on Sunday's scheduled sessions, it looks like MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS will retain its box office crown. It has an estimated 306 screenings vs. 110 for 3688.
