Singapore - Hollywood claims the top two spots this Lunar New Year. ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL (PG13) opens at no. 1 with US$1,066,342 from 68 screens (including 3D and IMAX 3D). Last weekend's top film, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON: THE HIDDEN WORLD (PG) drops to second place. It has grossed US$2,339,036 to date.
THE KNIGHT OF SHADOWS: BETWEEN YIN AND YANG 神探蒲松龄 (PG), THE NEW KING OF COMEDY 新喜剧之王(PG) and KILLER NOT STUPID 杀手不笨 (PG13) are the top three Mandarin language films with estimated grosses of US$685,689, US$575,094 and US$442,380 respectively.
KILLER NOT STUPID from director Jack Neo is also the second local release of the year.
THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART (PG), INTEGRITY 廉政风云烟幕 (PG13), PEGASUS 飞驰人生 (PG13), PEPPA CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR 小猪佩奇过大年 (G) and COLETTE (R21) are the other new releases.
THE ONLY MOM (PG13) opens on Friday, 8 February.
