TRANSFORMERS 5 expected to repeat at No. 1

Singapore - OVERDRIVE (PG13) is the widest release with an estimated 21 screens but will not speed past TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT (PG13), DESPICABLE ME 3 (PG), WONDER WOMAN (PG) and THE MUMMY (PG13), who are all expected to continue dominance over the upper echelons of the box office.

Other new films opening in cinemas include RESET 逆时营救 (PG13) (13 screens), THE HOUSE (NC16) (13 screens), THE WALL (M18) (12 screens), ZOMBIOLOGY: ENJOY YOURSELF TONIGHT 今晚打喪屍 (NC16) (11 screens) and MY COUSIN RACHEL (NC16) (8 screens).

TRANSFORMERS 5 grosses close to US$3m by 1st weekend

Singapore - TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT (PG13) conquers the box office at no. 1 with US$2,374,293. Add in previews and the cumulative gross comes up to US$2,993,663. Premium options include 3D and IMAX 3D.

Only two other films open and on limited screens: Mandarin-dubbed MAD WORLD 一念无明 (PG13) on 4 GV locales and THE PROMISE (PG13) playing at Lido only. Neither cracked the top ten.

Singapore - WONDER WOMAN (PG) storms to the top of the box office with an estimated US$2,122,837 (S$2,933,716) after 5 days of release, including premium options 3D and IMAX 3D. The Themysciran pic opened on a Wednesday with Tuesday midnight sneaks.

Also new in theatres is BAYWATCH (M18) in third place and GOD OF WAR 荡寇风云 (NC16) in fourth place.
