DUMBO flies into cinemas

Singapore - DUMBO (PG) flies into cinemas island wide. Premium options include 3D and IMAX 3D.

GHOST WIFE (NC16) also opens nation wide.

Releases on limited screens include THE HOLE IN THE GROUND (PG13) (8 screens), EERIE (PG13) (8 Cathay cinemas) and DRAGGED ACROSS CONCRETE (M18) (3 Shaw screens).

BOY ERASED (R21) plays at the Projector on 30 and 31 March. Both dates are already sold out with the next session being scheduled on 3 April. The short film, BENJAMIN'S LAST DAY AT KATONG SWIMMING COMPLEX (PG) will precede the screenings on 30 and 31 March.

SHAZAM! (PG) sneaks in cinemas island wide in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D over the weekend.

CAPTAIN MARVEL defends no. 1 position

Singapore - CAPTAIN MARVEL (PG13) defends her position at no. 1 for a third straight weekend.  It has grossed an estimated S$8.92m (S$6.61m) to date.

US (NC16) is the highest debut at no. 2 with US$230,374 from 31 screens. Throw in previews and the cumulative gross is US$284,655.

FIVE FEET APART (PG13) is the second highest debut at no. 4 with US$56,912 from 13 screens.

Other top ten entries include THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING (PG), BIG THREE DRAGONS 大三元 (PG13) and UPIN & IPIN: THE LONE GIBBON KRIS (PG)  at no. 5, 6, and 10 respectively.

US arrives in cinemas

Singapore - US (NC16) arrives in cinemas. Other releases include FIVE FEET APART (PG13), THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING (PG), BIG THREE DRAGONS 大三元 (PG13), UPIN & IPIN: THE LONE GIBBON KRIS (PG) and BIKERS KENTAL 2 (PG13) (8 Golden Village cinemas). THE HUMMINGBIRD PROJECT (NC16) opens on four screens. ULAN (PG) starts on Friday, 22 March at five Golden Village cinemas.

A LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT 地球最后的一晚 (PG13) starts the first of three planned screenings in 3D on Saturday, 23 March at Golden Village Suntec. 

THE DAWN WALL (PG13) plays at the Projector on Sunday, 24 March.

Singapore - CAPTAIN MARVEL (PG13) continues to soar at no. 1 for a second weekend. It has grossed an estimated S$7.13m (US$5.27m).

WONDER PARK (PG) is the highest debut at no. 2 with an estimated S$180K. Premium options include 3D.

Singapore - CAPTAIN MARVEL (PG13) tops the box office with an estimated S$4.12m (US$3.04m). Premium options include 3D and IMAX 3D.

Last week's no.1, FALL IN LOVE AT FIRST KISS 一吻定情(PG) drops to no. 2. It has grossed an estimated S$910K (US$671K) to date. Among holdovers, EXTREME JOB (PG13 Edited) has grossed an estimated S$22K (US$162K).

Other debuts include THE PRODIGY (NC16), VIRAL (M18) and AT ETERNITY'S GATE (PG) (Lido exclusive).

FALL IN LOVE is first Asian film to reach no. 1 in 15 months

Singapore - FALL IN LOVE AT FIRST KISS 一吻定情 (PG) ascends to no. 1.  The Taiwanese romance has grossed an estimated S$730,000 (US$538,448) to date.
 
FALL is the first film to make the climb to the top this year; the first non-debut no. 1 since BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (M18) from the weekend of  November 8 to 11, 2018; and the first Asian film to reach no. 1 since AH BOYS TO MEN 4 新兵正传 IV (PG13) during the week of November 9 to 12, 2017.

EXTREME JOB (PG13 Edited) is the highest debut at no. 6 with an estimated S$130,000 (US$95,888).  It's the 3rd edited release of the year. Also opening on multiple screens is MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS (M18) and HIT-AND-RUN SQUAD (PG13).
