Singapore: A QUIET PLACE PART II (PG13) is the top film for a second weekend. While its box office gross is not published, FAST & FURIOUS 9 (PG13) - which began sneaks from Thursday - was reported to have grossed an estimated US$952,940 (S$1.28m).
Both films are distributed locally by United International Pictures Singapore, and were rescheduled from last year to this year due to the pandemic.
AQPII was re-dated for June 10, then got pushed back to June 17 with previews from June 5. F9 was lined up for May 26, but this was postponed to June 24, and now to July 1 with sneaks starting on June 24.

HITMAN'S WIFE'S BODYGUARD opens while F9 sneaks
Singapore - After a week of sneaks, HITMAN'S WIFE'S BODYGUARD (M18) opens wide alongside... itself as FAST & FURIOUS 9 (PG13) officially opens the following week, but launches with sneak previews this Thursday.
Other debuts include THE LOCKDOWN HAUNTINGS (NC16) and THE RIDE (PG). MALAM (PG13), a Singapore drama gets a limited release at the Projector from Sunday (June 27).
While most Bollywood titles continue to be shelved due to the current pandemic, ROOMATE (PG) and DRISHYAM 2 (PG) are the first new Indian titles to play in cinemas in eight weeks, even if it opens with limited sessions.

A QUIET PLACE PART II opens after two weeks of previews

Singapore - After two weeks of previews, A QUIET PLACE PART II (PG13) officially opens. It's also accompanied by eight other debuts, the highest number of new releases in eight weeks.
The other debuts are DON'T STOP (PG13), a China sports drama; HAND ROLLED CIGARETTE (NC16), a Hong Kong crime drama; WHISPERING CORRIDORS: THE HUMMING (NC16), the latest in the Korean horror series; A GIFT FROM BOB (PG), a sequel featuring the beloved cat from London; WE MADE A BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET (PG13), Japanese romance; Singapore horror KONPAKU (NC16); SIX MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT (PG), a British war-time drama and Japanese anime BANG DREAM! Singapore - Korean heist film PIPELINE (PG13), horror THE DARK AND THE WICKED (NC16) and Japanese drama UNDER THE OPEN SKY (M18) open in cinemas this week.
A QUIET PLACE PART II (PG13) begins to sneak this Saturday. The monster thriller was originally scheduled to open on June 10 but has been postponed to June 17.
