MAZE RUNNER leaves behind scorching trail to No. 1

14 Sep 2015

Singapore - MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS (PG) debuts at no. 1 and is reported to be Fox's 3rd biggest weekend gross in this territory, raking in an estimated US$1.64m including previews from 72 screens. The first instalment last year started with about US$1.4m from 57 screens, and concluded its run with a US$3.86m tally.

THE TRANSPORTER REFUELLED (NC16) which reboots the franchise kicks off with an estimated US$220K including previews (which is not too different from the US$263K start of THE TRANSPORTER 3 from 2009, which ended its run with US$468,808).

The third and final debut, Hou Hsian-Hisen's THE ASSASSIN 刺客聂隐娘 (PG) grossed around US$50,506 (S$71,000) from 9 prints over the first four days (Note: minute discrepancy for the gross in US$ due to different sources and exchange rates).
