THE LION KING continues to roar at no. 1

Singapore - THE LION KING (PG) continues to roar at no. 1 for a second weekend. It has grossed US$2,515,110 to date. The top three remains unchanged with SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (PG) (US$6,542,501 cume) and THE WHITE STORM 2: DRUG LORDS 《扫毒 2：天地对决》 (NC16) (est. US$700K cume) in the next two positions.

MA (NC16) is the highest debut at no. 4 with US$108,507, including last week's sneak previews. CURSES (M18) is the only other top ten debut.

LOOKING UP 《银河补习班》 (PG) debut on Thursday, while these two other films opened on Friday (26 July): DANCING ELEPHANT 《跳舞吧！大象》 (PG) and the premium priced DORAEMON: NOBITA'S CHRONICLE OF THE MOON EXPLORATION (PG).

MA scares up cinema screens

Singapore - MA (NC16) opens island wide this weekend. LOOKING UP 《银河补习班》 (PG) and CURSES (M18) also open.

On Friday (26 July), DANCING ELEPHANT 《跳舞吧！大象》 (PG) begins, along with the premium priced DORAEMON: NOBITA'S CHRONICLE OF THE MOON EXPLORATION (PG).

On the specialty front, AMAZING GRACE (PG) opens with selected sessions at The Projector on Thursday, while IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK (M18) gets a single screening on Sunday, 27 July at Golden Village Suntec.

Next Wednesday, 31 July, FAST & FURIOUS: HOBBS & SHAW (PG13) sneaks island wide. Premium sessions include 3D and IMAX 3D.

Singapore - THE LION KING (PG) conquers the box office with a US$1,350,974 opening. Premium options include 3D and IMAX 3D.

Among holdovers, SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (PG) is still on 95 screens and has accumulated US$6,136,422; THE WHITE STORM 2: DRUG LORDS 《扫毒 2：天地对决》 (NC16) has raked up an estimated US$544K; PARASITE (M18) has grossed an estimated US$261K. 

THE DEAD DON'T DIE (M18) opens at Orchard and the Projector with US$9,870 including previews; Specialty release BIRDS OF PASSAGE (M18) takes off with selected sessions at The Projector.

THE DEAD DON'T DIE (M18) starts at Orchard and the Projector.

BIRDS OF PASSAGE (M18) opens with selected sessions at The Projector.

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME cume ups to US$5.39m

Singapore - SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (PG) spends a second weekend at no. 1. It grossed a further US$1,297,586 from 162 screens for a US$5,390,101 cume.

THE WHITE STORM 2: DRUG LORDS 《扫毒 2：天地对决》 (NC16) is the highest debut at no. 2 with an estimated US$280,134. 

CRAWL (NC16) comes in at no. 3 and CHILD'S PLAY (M18) start at no. 6

Other new releases include DILAN 1991 (PG) (4 Golden Village screens) and THE PROFESSOR AND THE MADMAN (PG13) (2 Shaw screens). Premium-priced CRAYON SHINCHAN: DANGEROUS HONEYMOON - THE LOST DADDY (PG) opens on 4 Golden Village screens. ROCKETMAN SING-ALONG (R21) opens exclusively at Lido.

ROCKETMAN SING-ALONG (R21) opens exclusively at Lido.

Specialty releases at The Projector include TOLKIEN (PG) from Thursday, 11 July and A FIRST FAREWELL (PG) from Friday, 12 July.

Singapore - SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (PG) swings to the top of the box office with an astounding US$3,387,444 since opening last Tuesday, 2 July on 182 screens. Premium options include 3D and IMAX 3D.

THE EXTRACTORS (NC16) opens on four screens and grossed an estimated US$10,434. Other debuts include ANOTHER CHILD (PG) and RED JOAN (M18).

Among holdovers, TOY STORY 4 (PG) has grossed US$2,238,826 while ROCKETMAN (R21) has performed to the tune of US$124,565.

TOY STORY 4 keeps ANNABELLE 3 from a no. 1 debut

Singapore - TOY STORY 4 (PG) stays at no. 1 for a second weekend, collecting another US$716,903 for a US$1,900,707 cume.

ANNABELLE COMES HOME (PG13) opened on Wednesday (26 Jun) and is the highest debut at no. 2 with an estimated US$694K.

PARASITE (M18) collects an estimated US$80K from 8 screens and debuts at no. 5. LOVE THE WAY YOU ARE 我的青春都是你 (PG) is the third new film at no. 7.

THE WOLF'S CALL (PG13 Edited) opens alongside LE CHANT DU LOUP (PG13 Edited), the French version of THE WOLF'S CALL. WOLF/LCDL is the 9th edited release of the year, and the 5th in which a "Pass Clean" version with a more restrictive rating was also passed on for the theatrical release.
