Singapore - TERMINATOR GENISYS looks set to maintain its hold at no. 1. Last week, it debut with an estimated US$1.4K. A 50% drop would mean a gross of US$700K, which may be enough to hold off TED 2 from stealing the no. 1 spot. The original TED grossed US$707K back in 2012 during its opening weekend, which means that if the sequel performs just as well, it may just unseat the T-3000 from its throne.
Other debuts this week include SPL 2: A TIME FOR CONSEQUENCES 杀破狼 2 (NC16), DARK PLACES (NC16), FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD (PG), ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM (PG), MISS J CONTEMPLATES HER CHOICE 石头,剪刀,布 (NC16) and PARADISE LOST (PG13).
Below is my prediction of this coming weekend's top ten films, based on the estimated number of sessions on Friday.
Box Office Prediction (2 - 5 Jul)
1 (1) Terminator Genisys (PG13) 336 sessions
2 (-) Ted 2 (M18) 227 sessions
3 (2) Minions (PG) 186 sessions
4 (3) Jurassic World (PG13) 169 sessions
5 (-) SPL 2: A Time for Consequences 杀破狼 2 (NC16) 149 sessions
6 (-) Dark Places (NC16) 77 sessions
7 (-) Far From the Madding Crowd (PG) 32 sessions
8 (-) Assassination Classroom (PG) 32 sessions
9 (4) Poltergeist (PG13) 15 sessions
10 (5) Twenty (NC16) 9 sessions
