Throw in sneak previews from the past two weekends and its total gross stands at US$698,006. STARS is now also the top grossing romance drama of the year in a field where there is virtually little competition. ENDLESS LOVE, which opened in February started with US$103,528 from 22 screens for a US$148,497 final.

Coming in at no. 3 is the action comedy sequel 22 JUMP STREET starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. The edited M18 movie grossed US$356,286 from 27 screens for a US$13,196 screen average. The total cume including sneaks is US$416,631. This is much better than 21 JUMP STREET, which started with US$200,318 (including sneaks) from 25 screens for a US$465,730 total gross two years ago.
