The Rock holds at no.1 with SAN ANDREAS

10 Jun 2015

Singapore - SAN ANDREAS leads the box office for a second weekend, grossing US$543,848 from 51 screens for a US$1,854,698 total to date.

INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 is the top debut of the week with US$512,298 from 36 screens for a strong US$14,231 screen average - the highest for any film this weekend.

The edited R21-rated cut of ENTOURAGE opens with US$92,617 on 14 screens for a US$6,616 screen average.

Cameron Crowe's besieged romance comedy ALOHA flops with a US$76,140 opening on 26 screens and a weak US$2,928 screen average.

The other debuts are Japanese animation DORAEMON: NOBITA AND THE SPACE HEROES; British romance comedy MAN UP and American indie THE ROAD WITHIN (edited M18 cut). Figures are not available for these films.

Amongst holdovers, TOMORROWLAND grossed a further US$175,030 from 31 screens for a US$1,812,018 total after 3 weekends; while SPY which also opened at the same time grossed a further US$155,527 from 24 screens for a US$1,036,714 total.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD picked up another US$81,071 from 19 screens in its 4th weekend for a US$1,163,844 total to date; while fellow opening film PITCH PERFECT 2 grossed a further US$85,445 from 27 screens for a US$2,236,499 cume. Here's where there's some discrepancy between figures as the official Singapore box office top ten ranks FURY ROAD ahead of ENTOURAGE and PITCH PERFECT 2.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON collects another US$38,972 from 19 screens for a US$9,819,279 (S$13,336,545) total in its 7th weekend. This pushes it ahead of IRON MAN 3 to become the second highest grossing film of all time in Singapore behind only the original Avengers pic that grossed a total of S$13,635,175 during its run back in 2012.
