BvS makes #1 its battlefield

Singapore - As expected, the super hero bout stomps the no. 1 spot. It's already reported that BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE (PG13) has scored the highest single day opening for a Warner Bros. release (US$855K).

Total cume over four days is US$3,350,574 from 138 screens for a muscular US$24,280 screen average, including 3D and IMAX 3D. This accounts for 78.14% of all tickets sold for the top ten films over the weekend.

From a historical perspective, this is the biggest debut for a March release, and the eight biggest overall.   

ZOOTOPIA (PG) continues to maintain a tight grip at no. 2. The animated hit has never dipped below no. 2 in all five weeks of release. It grossed a further US$335,075 for a US$3,807,639 cume.

Meanwhile, last weekend's box office champ KUNG FU PANDA 3 (G) drops to third place with US$219,135 pushing its total to date to US$3,576426.

Rounding up the top five are THE DIVERGENT SERIES: ALLEGIANT (PG13) and the faith based RISEN (PG13).

Opening in limited release, the Singapore documentary (and fourth local release of the year) THE SONGS WE SANG 我们唱着的歌 (PG) zooms into the top ten at no. 7 with an encouraging US$23,508 from 5 screens. A second faith based film, THE YOUNG MESSIAH (PG) enters at no. 8 with US$21,443 from 7 screens.
